Morton the Magician, for sale!

October 14, 2010

I had the privilege of guest speaking at the first stop of Sheldon Casavant’s book tour for Morton the Magician. Sheldon read the story and performed some magic. I shared my sketches and drawing process with the kids.

This book means a great deal to me. I spent the first six months of 2010 sketching and illustrating. It was a huge amount of work but also one of the most gratifying projects I have ever worked on. Sheldon and I had a blast and it was great to work together again (we developed his visual identity a few years ago, you can see it in our identity section).

The book is for sale! You can purchase it online through Sheldon’s website. It is a suitable book for all ages and includes instructions on how to do your own magic tricks at home.

Big thanks to Kristin Gibson for a stellar design, Anders J. Svensson for creative writing input and Roger Garcia for tirelessly helping me colour the illustrations.

ps. Isn’t magic cool? I got a huge smile from watching the kids go ‘whooooooa!’ when he pulled coins from ears and pigtails.
