You have:

- 4+ years design experience

- a focus in print design (and maybe some web design)

- computer savvy & the ability to draw by hand

- a talent for thinking conceptually

- a tendency to work quickly & manage your time

- enthusiasm for brainstorming, collaboration, and being art directed

- a passion for knowledge, culture, media, design, and life in general

- a friendly attitude towards big, lovable dogs

Woodward Design is a small, busy, and wildly successful design & illustration studio in the heart of Edmonton’s Old Strathcona neighborhood. We collaborate on interesting projects for a diverse (and enviable) client list, in a cozy and creative work environment. We are currently looking to expand our two person team by adding a third, complementary character to the mix.

I’ll be away July 13 – 25. Kristin will be running the studio while I’m away. I will be checking email bits throughout but mostly focusing on sticking toes in the sand…

The new coffee packaging we design for Transcend…

… and the new member of the WD team, Kayt! She’s an 8 year old, retired greyhound.

We have her racing stats to look at but she can run around 45 mph! But mostly, she goes for a 30 minute walk and then sleeps under a blanket in the studio for hours on end.

5th Annual Doctors and Derrieres Fundraiser

Doctors and Derrieres is a unique fundraising event in its 5th year where medical students pose nude for talented local artists and sculptors. Art pieces in diverse mediums celebrating the human body are then donated by each artist to be auctioned off at the main event. This years silent art auction event will take place on April 30th, 2010 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Enterprise Square (10230 Jasper Ave).

Money raised from this event goes towards an Emergency Social Health Fund, a community-led grassroots initiative in rural El Salvador that provides health care in underserved areas. Doctors and Derrieres is hosted by Change For Children, Christian Based Communities of El Salvador ( CEB’S ), and UofA medical students. Along with donated support from the Harcourt House.

The fourth member of our studio, Isis. She has been a part of Woodward Design and our personal lives for over seven years. We are heartbroken to lose her as a part of our team this week. She will truly be missed…

Check out all of the different components! V-day has a new logo, colour palette, and a few options for a new cupid (which was my part). My favourite parts are the new colour palette and the facebook application.

The Royal Bison Craft Fair is this weekend.  C’mon by and visit our booth! We’ll be selling 12 Days of Christmas cards and the shiny new Sweet Treats: Typographic Cookbook. The cookbook isn’t even back from the printer, but thanks to a feature on (whoa!) Design Sponge and we’ve pre-sold over 50 copies. Get your copy before they are allllll gone.
