We had a great time in Vancouver, learning about the value of design (or rather, design currency).

Things that stuck with us from the Icograda conference:

- We (as designers) are culture makers

- In design, we can balance traditional values with contemporary lifestyle in a beautiful way

- The value of design is in feeling

- Let’s cultivate cultural richness rather than financial richness

- Designers need to redesign themselves constantly and with enthusiasum

- Embrace Delight, wonder, craft, curiosity, imagination,and  joy

I will be taking a relaxing vacation to Mexico in a couple of weeks and my jaw dropped when I came across Steamline Luggage today. My personal favorite line is The Editor Series, I could definitely see myself arriving at the beach with this luggage in tow. I love the colours and the patterned lining, they definitely put some thought into the design of these bags.

We’re cooking up a fun new Christmas promotion here in Woodward-land. And surprise, surprise… its food related.

Most people know that the staff in this office enjoy either cooking, baking or eating (or all of the above)

Anyhow, while doing some research on flickr, I stumbled upon something completely random and wonderful. Cheeseburger cupcakes!

Dana and I are headed to Hawaii tomorrow! Here are some holga pictures I found on flickr that seem to capture the colour and atmosphere of surfer beach life. A life that we all secretly crave… right? Just a little bit? I don’t know how many clients called over today with a bon voyage, suggestion or well wish (thank you). I think they all wanted to come along… 

I think I will bring my red holga along for the ride. We’re back on April 2nd!

How do you choose just one? Joanna Goddard wrote this article for New York Magazine about a group of New Yorkers who only wear one colour. It is fascinating to see how they are able to dress completely in one colour all the time! I think it definitely takes dedication to colour your shoes with custom ordered electric blue Sharpies.
