Moving? Summer cleaning? You may be able to help Northern Light Theatre in a unique and exciting way. Next season, Northern Light Theatre is producing a project which requires a MASSIVE amount of paper pornography (magazines, books, poster, post cards etc.).

A HUGE amount of pornography is needed- more than we can afford to buy.

Got a friend with a used book store, a garage sale, an adult superstore or a Playboy addiction? Hook us up! Cleaning out the attic? Donate your dusty boxes of magazines to us.

We’re looking for as much porn and adult content as possible- straight, gay, bi, fantasy, fetish, furry- the more skin the better. Absolutely NO JUDGEMENTS will be made. No questions asked. Don’t ask, don’t tell.

For any questions or to arrange a pick up, please contact:

We made this for a contest on veer.com. It lights up and required a truck to transport and photograph! I would imagine there was many, many submissions. Even if we don’t get a prize we had lots of fun working together on it. Also, we finally have a picture of the three of us! I think this is the first time. It only took two years….

Here is our submission text:
Q. What do you get when you take over 500 squares of Veer imagery?
A. A box of ideas sure to provide illumination for your next project.

For our entry we recreated a large scale, three dimensional version of the Veer logo…the catch? Each of the 568 orange colored squares used to ‘color’ the logo were cut from the pages of old Veer catalogues, Veer logos, and Veer Marketplace images. And what good would a 3D Veer logo be if it didn’t shed a little light on your creative project…or your desk. We like to think of it as our own offline Veer ‘lightbox’.

Both Andrea and Hillary have chatted on their blogs about saving handmade toys in the US. Scary to think that small business owners making good quality softies/toys could possibly be shut down because of the legislation set to go through. This means no more toys on etsy. Even Uncle Jo can’t sell his wooden carved toys without very expensive testing.

This past weekend, I was fortunate to participate in Laurie Rosenwald’s How to Make Mistakes on Purpose Workshop at the Banff Centre. I’ve sworn an oath to the artistic Mafia, not to reveal any of the workshop secrets, but you can check out Laurie’s article in Communication Arts to learn more about it.

Whether discovering happy accidents or reflecting on the pitfalls of forced creativity, the workshop provided some fresh inspiration and perspective. I definitely recommend it for creative professionals, designers, and non-designers alike. Much thanks to Digital Alberta, the GDC, The Banff New Media Institute and Laurie for such an outstanding event.
