Controversial Advertising

April 14, 2009

Seems like a crazy notion, but Mirko Ilic has discovered many situations where Hitler is being used in advertising.

Steve Heller asks: how do you feel about introducing controversial themes into mass advertising?

Some other highlights: Ads that are all legs and Ads inspired by madonna and child

  1. Sade Chantal says:

personally i am opened minded and don’t mind being exposed to certain realities that i do not see in everyday life.

however i do not think that most people are ready for it. 80-20 rule 80% of the population are narrow minded and ignorant and can not see beyond the visual representatives resulting in misinterpretation of an ad. these types of people also do like to process thought that displace their emotions therefore i don’t think controversial would not work main stream and should be kept for those exceptional surprise publication’s that get everyone talking. and only the 20% would have the brain capacity to deal with.
